 All the NCIN scholars at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center participated in monthly service-learning leadership activities. Scholars worked with 金殿国际棋牌less people and people living in parts of the city with high poverty and poor health outcomes through their work in soup kitchens, community agencies, and churches. Activities included serving meals, talking with 金殿国际棋牌less people, and providing health screenings for and promoting health among adults and youth in underserved communities. Scholars enjoyed using their nursing skills to help others in the community and said that early participation in these community activities exposed them to real-world situations.

The most recent cohort of New Careers in Nursing (NCIN) Scholars to graduate from the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center (UTHSC) either have jobs lined up or will be entering doctoral programs in the fall.
